Concrete Cost Winnipeg · 2026 Price Guide
WHAT CONCRETE REALLY COSTS IN WINNIPEG
No Hidden Costs • No Mess • No RegretHonest price ranges for driveways, garage floors, patios and basement floors, so you know what to budget before you call.
Driveways & Garage Floors
Prices are per square foot, installed, and include base prep, rebar and finishing. We’ll give you a range by phone first, then confirm your final number on site. Replacing a cracked garage floor? See how we replace garage floors.
-
Broom finish, installed. Includes excavation, compacted base, 32 MPa air-entrained concrete, 10M rebar at 16″ on centre and fibre reinforcement. Most double driveways land somewhere around $10,000–$18,000 including tear-out.
-
Exposed aggregate typically adds $4–$9 per sq ft. Stamped and coloured concrete typically adds $7–$15 per sq ft, depending on the pattern and colours.
-
Includes breaking out and hauling away the old slab, base prep, rebar and a new floor sloped to the door. Final price depends on size, access and how much has to come out.
-
Removing and disposing of your existing concrete or asphalt. Thicker slabs, heavy rebar or tight access sit at the higher end.
-
Fresh concrete needs warmth to hydrate and gain strength. After about Labour Day, a sunny afternoon can still feel fine, but overnight lows stall the curing process. The slab looks great going into winter, then scales, flakes or pops the following spring. That’s why we wrap up exterior flatwork around Labour Day; we’d rather book you for the first warm weeks of spring than pour a driveway that won’t last.
Patios, Walkways & Basement Floors
Same spec, same care, smaller footprint. These ranges are per square foot, installed. No job is too small, though smaller jobs carry a minimum charge.
-
Broom finish, installed, with base prep and reinforcement. Smaller areas, hand-forming around landscaping and decorative finishes push toward the higher end.
-
New or replacement basement slabs. Removing an old floor, adding under-slab insulation or radiant heat lines changes the price, and we’ll spell it out in your quote.
-
No job is too small: steps, pads, a few sidewalk squares. Smaller jobs carry a minimum charge to cover the crew, equipment and concrete delivery. Ask and we’ll tell you up front.
-
Size, how much old concrete comes out, access for trucks, soil conditions, slab thickness and finish. Your written quote spells out every line, so there are no surprises.
Why Concrete Quotes Vary
A lower number usually means less concrete, less steel or less base, and you find out a few winters later. When you compare quotes, check these four things.
-
Ask what strength they’re ordering and whether it’s air-entrained. We use 32 MPa with 5–8% air for every exterior slab, because anything less scales and flakes in a Winnipeg winter.
-
Everyone says “rebar,” so ask what size, what spacing and how it’s supported. Bars left lying in the dirt instead of up on chairs in the middle of the slab don’t do their job. We set 10M rebar at 16″ on centre on chairs, with microfibres in the mix.
-
Most heaving and settling starts underneath. Ask how deep they dig, what base goes in and whether it’s compacted. Skimping here is the easiest way to lower a quote.
-
Get every line in writing: tear-out, base, thickness, steel, finish and cleanup. Our quotes are itemized, and residential work is backed by a 2-year workmanship warranty.
